The Iceland of your dreams

Arriving to the airport we rented a car. The adventure started since the moment we took the highway to reykjavik. The architecture is clean and elegant. After the first 20 minutes I could already see the ocean, it felt as if I was going to a secret place where there was no rules.

Arriving to the Townhouse where we were staying it felt exactly as if we were living right there, it felt like home as soon as we arrived.

We went out for a walk in the center and to have a drink at the Big Lebowsky Bar. The city is clean, and everything looks as if it was taken out from a fairy tail.

We went to have dinner to fiskfactory.is to plan our trip for the next day.

On Saturday the road trip towards the black beach started. First we stopped to have breakfast in a small house by the road, the salmon-egg sandwich is definitely something you have to try here.

The weather wasn't very welcoming but the nature is beautiful. Everything is very green and you can see the farms with Icelandic horses everywhere.

Our first stop was the Waterfall Seljalandfoss. The heigh is about 35 m and it the road is perfectly made so you can go behind the waterfall.

This Waterfall is formed from the rivers coming down from the Glaciar on top.

Our second stop was the Glaciar Eyjafjallajökull, the volcanic sand makes this Glaciar look as a beautiful setting of cold tones going from water blue to a strong dark Black. The lake in front of it looks as a mini bay with crystal clear water.

Finally we arrived to Vik or more precisely to Dyrhólaley, here you can see the beautiful black beach and the stone sculptures that make this place so special.

At the end of the day we went to the secret lagoon, the first thermal pool in Iceland, which is next to the thermal hot springs and surrounded by rocks in the middle of a valley, pure magic.

On Sunday we went to have breakfast at the laundromat and then to see the Geyser only 50 mins away from Reykjavik and with powerful views over the valley and the ocean.

Iceland has so much to discover and to see, this was only a weekend trip but I wish I could stay at least a weeks to Walk on the glaciar and surf in the amazing breaks that they have to offer.
